Sophie K is excited to let you know that we have add comedian Matt Kirshen from NBC's Last Comic Standing to the roster. Matt and fellow contestant Amy Schumer will touring together this spring. We've also add the brilliant band The Sketches which features two Cuban American brothers out of DC.

Freestyle Love Supreme
We started working with a group called Freestyle Love Supreme. They combine hip hop, improv and comedy into one amazing show. They've performed at the Aspen Comedy Festival, Melbourne and Edinboro Fringe festivals and they just got back from the Montreal Just For Laughs Festival. I've attached the link for their show.

All three of these great comics have been selected to showcase at the National NACA Convention in Boston this year. We also have the band Stand and Brad Lowery showcasing at the National APCA Conference in Atlanta this year. The awesome band Fizzgig and Steve Hofstetter will be showcasing at the Northeast APCA in March. We snagged a couple of alternate spots at the NACA Northern Plains regional conference, congrats to Brian Brushwood and Nigel Lawrence. Check back often!!

Asian Comedy Tour - The Crazy 88's Booking Now!!
Comedians Bobby Lee ("MAD TV"), Steve Byrne ("Chappelle's Show"), Kevin Shae ("Jimmy Kimmel Live") and Dr. Ken (Oxygen's "Revenge of the Boys"), as seen in The Kims of Comedy (to be released next year) are taking the show on the road as The Crazy 88s Tour. The show features four of the top Asian comedians working today.The group just finished a sold-out run at San Fransisco's The Punchline and has already been invited back for a special New Year's Eve show.

Sad News at Sophie K.
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear friend
Freddy Soto.
Freddy passed away unexpectedly last Sunday. Only one night before, he
triumphantly left the stage of the Laugh Factory to a raucous, standing
ovation. No cause of death has been announced, and we join his family,
and wide circle of friends, in mourning his untimely passing.
Those of us that knew and worked with Freddy for much of these past 13
years are devastated, as Freddy was very much a comedian on the verge.
Freddy's work on TV, in films, on stage and all over the country gave us
many laughs, many highs, and he will be missed so dearly. His "Three
Amigos" tour with Carlos Mencia & Pablo Francisco, and nationwide tour
opening for Marc Anthony, cemented his status as a tour de force
comedian to be reckoned with. He also just recently starred with Adam
Sandler in Sony Pictures "Spanglish". While it may seem unfair that he
should be taken from us so soon, we take comfort, as his family does, in
the knowledge that Freddy is with his Lord.

Our Big, Fat National Conference!!
The staff here at Sophie K. are gearing up for an exciting adventure at the NACA National conference in Opryland. We're bringing our compass to help us get from the hotel room to the Marketplace on time. Jeffrey Ross will be on the Mainstage on Thursday February 27 @ 1:00,CAT Magazine's Female Entertainer of the Year, Alexandra McHale will emceeing the Mainstage on Friday February 28 @ 8:00 fresh off her appearance on The Tonight Show starring Jay Leno, also on Friday @ 4:45 at the Club showcase catch the adorably funny Vijai Nathan. Saturday we can't wait for the high-energy hilarity of Steve Byrne who will be emceeing the Club Showcase on March 1 @ 3:45. Steve will be seen on the brandy new Star Search this spring.
Sophie K. Adds to the Roster
Sophie K. is proud to announce the addition of Jeffrey Ross, who will be showcasing at the National NACA conference at Opryland this year. Jeffrey is well known for the Friars Club Roasts on Comedy Central. He's also been seen on countless TV shows including Late Show w/ David Letterman, The Tonight Show starting Jay Leno and Late Night with Conan O'Brien just to name a few.
Sophie K. is also thrilled to add the hysterical Mitch Fatel to the roster. Be sure to tune in to ESPN on February 2 to watch Mitch's hilarious location pieces following the NFL Pro Bowl. Mitch will be making his ninth, count it, NINTH appearance on the Tonight Show starring Jay Leno in January.
We've also added comedians Eric Lyden, Veronica Mosey and the amazing high-energy pop rock band, Edible Red. Comedian Alexandra McHale won Female Entertainer of the Year from Campus Activities Today Magazine was nominated for Comedian of the Year by NACA, APCA and Campus Activities Today Magazine.
Valerie Vigoda of the band GrooveLily was also nominated Female Entertainer of the Year by Campus Activities Today Magazine and GrooveLily was nominated in the Performing Arts category.
