Ian Ethan Case

Boston-based 18-string acoustic double-neck guitarist Ian Ethan Case has been performing in listening rooms around the country for the past eight years and is increasingly gaining recognition both for his unique instrumental compositions and for the highly original playing methods which are required to perform them.

One of only about five musicians worldwide to tackle the double-neck guitar in earnest, he fluidly combines a variety of self-invented playing techniques necessitated by his multi-layered compositions, which have begun to establish the instrument's musical validity perhaps more so than the work of any other artist. While audiences consistently remark on the fascinating visual aspects of watching Ian play "as he rambunctiously weaves between fretboards, slapping and tapping the sounds of the guitar to life seemingly effortlessly in a style that you've likely never seen before" (Port Orchard Independent), his unusual methods are simply byproducts of the rich, heartfelt, and powerfully uplifting music that he writes and plays.

Pressing Strings

Pressing Strings is a soul stirring trio based out of the musically fertile scene of Annapolis, Maryland. Their sound is versatile and stems from lead singer Jordan Sokel’s soulful, and captivating songwriting style. Backed by the air-tight rhythm section of Brandon Barlett on drums and Nick Welker playing Fender VI bass. Their musical influences span genres and generations, and naturally their fan base does the same. All three members grew up basically on the Mason-Dixon line, in the shadow of Appalachia and sewn into the seams of the Chesapeake bay area. That brackish water seems fitting to represent their style, blending many different influences together forming one distinct sound. Rootsy and organic, funky and melodic. A sort of island reggae vibe mixed with a heavy blues influence. Their live shows have an ever changing fly-by-the-seat appeal, occasionally breaking out deep covers and owning them as if they wrote it. Over the past several years the band has been productive putting out 5 albums gaining national play on AAA radio and shows including UnderCurrents. Pressing Strings is finishing their 7th album with Grammy winning Producer Scott Jacoby (John Legend) and 11-Time Grammy winning Engineer, Neil Dorfsman (Dire Straights)

Kindred Throats
Todd Risenmay and Kevin Stafford

Kindred Throats is the musical comedy duo, Kevin Stafford and Todd Risenmay: Two throats, two guitars, one unforgettable bromance. Todd and Kevin met when they were newborn babies at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Eugene, Oregon where, upon meeting each other, they harmonized a musical note so powerful that the doctors on staff would go on to say it was, “pretty impressive for babies.” Ever since, they have grown and experienced life together through many successes, failures, fears, and love, and they’ve documented it all in two-part harmony. Kevin and Todd have performed in multiple national tours across the US and with The Second City at Sea, respectively. Kindred Throats performs comedy songs while also incorporating improvisation and audience participation to get you clapping to the beat, singing along, and possibly becoming the subject of an uncomfortably intimate serenading.
